My client is an award winning manufacturer of aluminium foil packaging used extensively in the food industry. They are an industry leader, truly breaking the mould and delivering innovation through product design and manufacturing automation.

They are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join them on a permanent basis from their site in Telford.

The successful Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for the Strategic development and effective implementation of all Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures throughout the site.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring legal and contractual compliance of all HS&E requirements in all areas of the Company's business operations.
  • Ensuring compliance to ISO 14001 managing the appropriate systems to ensure the companies successful certification.
  • Conducting Internal and facilitate External Audits to ensure compliance to ISO 14001.
  • Developing and implementing 3 year plan to further enhance compliance, performance and services.
  • Reviewing, developing and improving the organisation's safety management system, ensuring that health and safety risks are identified, assessed and managed with appropriate control measures in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing the organisation's Health and Safety Policies and procedures/guidance.
  • Assisting managers carrying out risk assessments across all areas of the organisation and carry out risk assessments.
  • Producing reports for various governance committees, including the Organisational Safety Committee, Quality & Governance Committee and the Board of Trustees.
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits and provide advice and support to managers where corrective actions are required.



You :

  • Member of Environmental body such as IEMA NEBOSH / IOSH General Certificate
  • Experience of management of internal and external audit plans.
  • ISO9001 awareness.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels both written and verbal.
  • Food manufacturing - highly desirable but not essential
