Lead Continuous Improvement - Barrow in Furness Based - £46.71 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 - 6 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Barrow in Furness. Lead Continuous Improvement Activity for Supply Chain through the development and delivery of the Continuous Improvement Strategy and Plan. Develop Functional Capability through Training, Coaching and Mentorship in Tools, Techniques and best Practice Specific Duties Supporting Quality Maturity Matrix Improvement. Recognised functional Subject Matter Expert. Manage coordination and delivery of Functional Improvement plan. Provide business as usual, Continuous Improvement services to the function as recognized and qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME). As per functional need. Embed Continuous Improvement Capability throughout Supply Chain through standardization of best practice and deployment of Improvement Programme. Develop and deliver training to ensure Supply Chain personnel are capable and confident to undertake ongoing Improvement activity. Provide coaching and mentorship to support others in developing Continuous Improvement skill and understanding. Conduct analysis and provide/deliver executive summaries, reports and presentations when required. Support Supply Chain Managers and Senior Supply Chain Managers in the delivery of wider Supply Chain Transformation objectives. My client, a market leader supporting solutions with the Aerospace, Defence and Energy markets, are looking for a Category Manager to work on a permanent basis (hybrid working) from their site in Coventry. As the Category Manager - Professional Services, you will develop, procure approval, and execute indirect commodity strategies within Professional Services, across specific sites, divisions or globally. You will be responsible for: Development, documentation and implementation of commodity strategies, ensuring alignment of all stakeholders. Ensuring the material for category management supports standardised processes, document lessons learned and good practice, and deliver improved operational efficiency. Sourcing new products and services in line with Meggitt policies, processes, strategy and best practice. Engaging with stakeholders in a matrix, to ensure that the Indirect Services sourcing activities aligns to key operational objectives and expectations. Acting as an Ambassador of the central Procurement organization with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, supporting divisions/sites in delivery of annual cost, Quality & delivery objectives for assigned commodities. Developing and deploying Indirect Procurement processes, practices and reporting, to drive continuous improvement and align activities across Meggitt. Managing stakeholders and key suppliers through routine effective business reviews, to understand influence vendor performance, future opportunities, and/or challenges. You will have: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and CIPS Qualified Experience in a Strategic Category Management role with a strong grasp of Category Management principles, latest tools and best practice Extensive experience of the following Indirect Categories/Sub categories: Professional Services (HR Services, Recruitment, Insurance, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Corporate Consultancy) Other Services (Events Management & related Services, Translations Services, Promotional items, Utilities etc.) Ability to develop and implement a commodity strategy, covering all aspects such as cost/quality/delivery etc across multi sites Experience of tendering and managing high value contracts. Our client who design, develop and manufacture complex Electro-Mechanical equipment for the Defence Industry are currently recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Manager to provide negotiation on MOD contracts and support the MD with commercial activities. The ideal candidate will have been involved with the negotiation and administration of contracts for the UK Governments Ministry of Defence and other agencies. You will support the Senior Commercial Manager in delivering the Commercial activities, working with the Business Development and Bid Management Team in developing commercial solutions in response to tenders issued by the UK Government, Overseas Governments and major OEM's. You will be responsible for: Being the focal point for commercial activities in the tender process on behalf of our client Managing the negotiations with customers of contract terms and conditions Ensuring that contracting risk (technical, financial, contractual) is captured and managed Building and maintaining effective customer and partner relationships, liaise with internal stakeholders and providing support to the Senior Commercial Manager including acting as a delegate where required. The Senior Commercial Manager will support the Finance Director in delivering the Commercial activities of the group, working with the Business Development and Project teams in developing commercial solutions in response to tenders issued by the UK Government and subsequently providing commercial management. You will be responsible for: Managing the preparation and submission of commercial proposals, including the preparation of responses to contract conditions and the management of the Request for Bid Approvals Formulating and obtaining approval for all agreements to be entered into as prime or sub contractor, and to enter into all contractual commitments with customers Managing the negotiations with customers of contract terms and conditions, including price and payment, leading to contract award and acceptance. Managing effective contract execution through the lifecycle, from the issue of internal authorisation through to contract closure. Providing Commercial governance accordance with the requirements appropriate commercial policies and processes. Supporting the Project Management team with the drafting and negotiation of sub-contracts for both goods and services. Supporting the Business Development team with the drafting of teaming and other collaborative arrangements. You will have: Broad based knowledge of, and experience working within, the defence industry. Wide experience of the UK defence contracting environment, with a detailed understanding of pricing, contract terms and conditions, financing and funding mechanisms and a working knowledge of contract law. Previous experience in working across internal and external business boundaries.
