A leading supplier of procurement solutions to a variety of sectors including, but not limited to, the health sector (care homes, NHS etc.), education and hospitality is looking for a Category Manager to join their team based in East Manchester (hybrid working agreement). The business is proud of delivering efficiency, quality and value to their customers. The Role As one of their Category Managers, you'll be responsible for implementing the procurement strategies set by the Head of Procurement and other Directors withinthe organisation whilst managing the supply base and negotiating competitive pricing within your primary categories, which would be Dried and Frozen. You'll To succeed in the role of Category Manager, you'll need experience of a similar purchasing role with significant experience of the food industry / market. Any experience of working with companies such as Brakes and Bidfood would certainly hold you in good stead. You will work with the sales and production departments to ensure demand is met. You will be responsible for: Utilising systems to translate sales forecasts into achievable production plans, that optimally balance customer service and operational efficiency and support stock categorisation Reviewing and maintaining the production plan Raising contracts, work orders and BOMs In conjunction with the materials planner, ensuring material availability from 3rd party warehouse facility Reviewing, maintaining and managing the production plan on a daily basis Assisting NPD with all trials, ensuring relevant documentation is available and correct. Ensuring ongoing, accurate proactive communication with the supply chain, operations and sales teams. Supporting Cost Saving Initiatives Implementing new procedures and improvements within the department Providing accurate production plans and reports accordingly. You : Significant experience in a production planning role within a manufacturing business. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Materials Planner will support the procurement, planning and stock management of all aluminium to ensure consistent flow into the business to effectively meet demand. You will be responsible for: Assessing material demand in line with the production plan and the finished good stock holding policy Issuing purchase and call off orders accordingly in line with the production plan and metal stock holding targets Reviewing all order confirmations and make amendments where necessary Reviewing all purchase orders and close off when complete Regularly reviewing and expediting future supply communicating any potential shortfalls Ensuring inbound documentation is uploaded timely and efficiently. Reviewing and responding to all forecast amendments where applicable Processing MRP run Monitoring inventory levels against agreed targets Supporting inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy Supporting cost savings initiatives. Implementing new procedures and improvements within the department Supplier performance monitoring Assisting with new product development and requirements thereof Creating regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation You will have: SAP Knowledge - highly desirable Strong organisational and time management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing allocated goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery, ensuring continuity of timely supply. You will be responsible for: Supporting the procurement of production & nonproduction materials and services. Demand analysis, purchase order generation and expedition. Supporting with maintaining accurate stock levels in line with company objectives and maintain accurate data. Procurement Leader Barrow in Furness Based (Mainly remote) £45.50 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 6 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Barrow in Furness. 1-2 days per month on site so mainly remote working. The role holder: - May have some supervisory responsibilities, including managing direct reports, allocating and checking work, formal approval of documents and undertaking Performance Development Reviews in line with company procedures. - Will demonstrate leadership behaviours. - Be seen by internal stakeholders as the primary / initial point of contact for their area of responsibility.
