Senior Procurement Practitioner Barrow in Furness Based (Hybrid) £45.50 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 12 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Barrow in Furness. Hybrid working. On site 2-3 days per week. Plan, deliver and monitor procurement activity for the specific item/scope of work assigned. Responsible for: Execution of the end-to-end procurement process i.e. delivery of information, products and services to quality, cost and schedule requirements. Continually review supplier performance. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders Typical duties include (but are not limited to): Independently undertake transactional procurement activity including; raising Request for Quotations, negotiating price and lead times, creating and managing purchase orders, expediting delivery and managing payments. Undertake supplier assessment and due diligence activity to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs. Record and report cost savings / cost avoidance. Communicate with suppliers and internal / external stakeholders - resolving a wide variety of routine problems and quality issues, escalating complex / high impact issues when necessary. Apply awareness of risk and opportunity management to address low impact risks within contract management activity. Update systems such as SAP, eDMS, Teamcenter with quality, accurate information relating to the procurement activity, in accordance with document management policy and process. Continually review the performance of suppliers against quality, cost and delivery metrics to ensure Submarines' requirements are met and to secure improvements. Complete cost-forecasting for equipment within individual's scope. Support the team, with minimal supervision, in the preparation of material in support of major subcontract / transactional process activity, including (but not limited to): raising requests for information, issuing invitation to tenders and contract packs, stage gate presentations, supplier down-selection, managing data deliverables, supplier visits (onsite and at supplier sites), supplier relationship management. Knowledge: Knowledge of in-scope product / service being provided to ensure requirements with respect to nuclear safety and environmental management are understood and delivered/met where applicable Sound knowledge of procurement principles and practices Sound understanding of negotiation and supplier management techniques Sound understanding of commercial aspects of contracts (with support). A company that specialise in Electric Vehicle technology is seeking to recruit a Procurement specialist to work on a contract based in North West London that is initially scheduled for 6 months. The Role This position will involve responsibility for satisfying the sourcing and procurement of sub-assemblies, components, materials, equipment and tooling used on the development of electric vehicles. The projects focus mainly on research and development. You will also be responsible for inputting data on systems to perform key tasks for purchase ordering and other transactions in procurement and supply with ensuring an ongoing data integrity. Responsibilities and Activities * PO Cycle: Prepare and distribute Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) and Purchase Orders (PO's) and maintain logs including delivery schedules and records. * Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods. * Sourcing: Review electrical or mechanical schematics and drawings to identify which materials need to be sourced. * Review the demand for new parts requested by the engineering team and place orders that are assigned to you. * Assess and select the most appropriate suppliers using relevant sources of information, and when required, explore alternate suppliers. * Follow best negotiation practice and ensure general terms and conditions of sales and purchase are acceptable. * Data: Maintain the approved supplier list including tracking supplier certifications, key commercial and technical data. * Prepare and deliver briefs, updates and reports as when required by project teams. * Build Support: Support the in-house build of prototypes by tracking serial numbers, creating part kits, and re-stocking and tracking sub-assemblies. * Perform stock checks if required. * Relationships and Communication: Develop and maintain supplier relationships. * Ensure that communication with stakeholders and suppliers are appropriate and timely. * Liaise between internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues. * Operations Support: Identify and replenish shortages of raw materials and consumables. * Manage collections of outbound goods, preparing shipping documentation and packing goods before collection. * Manage delivery of incoming goods including and unpacking and stocking goods. * Assist with Goods In by receiving and unboxing orders and checking the delivery is correct. The role of the Internal Account Manager is maintaining satisfaction and management of the day-to-day customer account activity allowing commercial functions to be able to focus on growing and developing new business.
