Senior Procurement Professional
12 Month Contract

£29.47 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35
This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UKs leading Defence companies based in Scotstoun. Hybrid working, 3-4 days per week on site.
The role holder:
* Through LCM, plan, control, execute and monitor all in-scope transactional procurement and contracting activity with minimal supervision
* Undertake and support the team in Supplier assessment and due diligence activity to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs in line with quality, cost and delivery KPI's
* Adapt approach to ensure that negotiations are concluded for an optimised business outcome
* Develop, agree and implement the Procurement strategies and promote cross functional collaboration to ensure full, thorough engagement and buy-in to contracting strategies
* Lead the timely identification, analysis and resolution of internal and external issues which may potentially affect the supply of material for Programme requirements â€" escalating when appropriate
* Manage Supplier risk, seek out, identify and deliver opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings
* Record and report cost savings / cost avoidance and deliver ongoing cost analysis including EAC work and robust contract management feeding into the Control Account Management structure
* Undertake the continuous review of Supplier performance and development activities using business Key Performance Indicator's to ensure requirements are met to secure improvements and inform future Procurement strategy
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise engagement at all times
* Maintain Procurement systems with quality, accurate information relating to the procurement activity and in accordance with the Document Management Policy and process
* Be an advocate of the Procurement function
Knowledge:
- Professional knowledge/understanding of Procurement principles, techniques and practices
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Contract Management in a Supply Chain environment in defence or similar industry e.g. automotive, aerospace
- Awareness of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreement
Skills:
- Good negotiation and influencing skills -internal colleagues, Engineering, PM, Operations, Quality functions, Suppliers and 3rd Party Providers
- Good supplier and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Able to identify and manage Risk & Opportunities
- Financial spend management
- Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise as appropriate
- Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft packages and business systems
Qualifications:
- CIPS qualified or equivalent, working towards CIPS or suitable experience in a relevant role
- Minimum 3years Procurement Experience Behaviours
