Are you an experienced Production Manager keen to support solutions within the manufacturing sector?? If so, the following permanent role could be for you….

My client is a leading manufacturer of custom-made steel door solutions in the Newcastle under Lyme area. They are looking for a Production Manager to join them ASAP on a permanent basis.

The Production Manger will be responsible for leading the multi-functional production teams, to help ensure adherence to KPI's with regard to costs, efficiency, quality and customer expectations. You will help plan, coordinate and control our production processes, whilst driving continuous improvements via a "right first time" approach. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with the production teams, other departments and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring best practices are embedded in all manufacturing processes relating to Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Supporting manufacturing operations across Fabrications, Assembly, and Paint departments to meet On Time In Full Error Free production.
  • Delivering Manufacturing KPIs, including throughput, quality, HR, and Health and Safety compliance.
  • Driving employee engagement, workforce development, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing equipment and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Ownership of the Manufacturing performance
  • Accountable for the Manufacturing performance against Business Targets.
  • Directing and overseeing operational production teams.
  • Help establish and monitor KPI's and improve where necessary.
  • Ensuring team motivation and facilitate structured development of all employees via performance management activities, to ensure delivery of KPI's and other strategic objectives.
  • Collaborating directly with supply chain, production planning and stores colleagues to optimise Production Schedule attainment and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitating daily production meetings, setting targets and ensuring people are held accountable for communication updates and allocated actions.
  • Generating continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of Production.
  • Assisting the HSQE Manager in the management of the departmental Quality Assurance system - ISO 9001.

You will have:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a management role within a similar setting.
  • Strong manufacturing background
  • IOSH
  • Continuous improvement background
  • Lean Six Sigma - highly desirable
  • Fabrication background - highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
