Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as a Sheet Metal Worker full time onsite in Govan or Scotstoun

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Sheet Metal Worker to add to their talented, hardworking team in Govan or Scotstoun on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.

Location: Govan and Scotstoun
Shifts Dayshift (Mon-Thurs), Nightshift (Mon-Thurs) or Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun)
Standard Day Rates: £20.10 PAYE + £8 per hour for non-local candidates (+ holiday pay)
Umbrella rate: £26.89 + £10.47 per hour inside IR35
Nights/Weekends Rates: £26.73 PAYE + £8 per hour for non-local (+ holiday pay)
Umbrella rate £35.89 + £10.47 per hour inside IR35

The role


* Fabrication of sheet metal furniture i.e. Lockers, cabinets, store etc.
* Use a range of hand and mechanical tools and equipment to complete fabrication activities
* Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand and power tools
* Fabrication of ventilation systems i.e. spiral and box vents
* Always comply with SHE regulations
* Interpret and work from ship drawings and technical specifications
* Working to engineering standards, striving for quality first time


Your skills & experience


* Time served (Able to provide Apprenticeship papers)
* Understanding of HVAC installation & manufacture
* Understanding of manufacturing processes, instructions and procedures
* Understanding of SHE risks assessments, PUWER and COSHH
* Comfortable working in confined spaces and/or at height
* Background in a major construction / manufacturing environment, marine experience is
