I'm looking for a Radar Systems Engineer to join BAE Systems in Great Baddow, Chelmsford.

You will be working as a Senior Systems Engineer within a close-knit Multi-Function Radar team of inter-disciplinary engineers, evolving their radar portfolio of existing and brand-new radar products to address emerging and future threats in the realm of Future Air Dominance.

With demonstrable experience in contemporary Systems Engineering, you will become an integral member of a growing team to deliver next generation technology solutions and help develop the junior systems engineering population.

What you'll be doing:

  • Applying a breadth of knowledge, skills and experience of Systems Engineering principles and techniques to develop technical solutions and resolve engineering issues
  • Discern and decompose requirements to system and sub-system level and manage these in an approved tool-set such as IBM DOORS Next
  • Collaborating with specialists across different engineering disciplines including electronics, electrical, mechanical and software to realise overarching system design solutions
  • Contribute to definition and articulation of underpinned through production of customer acceptance evidence
  • Through these activities you will build your personal profile with senior stakeholders and grow a diverse knowledge base in radar engineering

Your skills and experience:

  • An understanding of at least one of the following subject areas; signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system, and sensor resource optimisation
  • An appreciation of factors that can affect the real-world performance of sensing systems and how these can impact the accuracy and timeliness of measurements in order to meet challenging design objectives and requirements
  • Demonstrates understanding and experience of Systems Engineering which could include knowledge of Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288)
  • Higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline

The salary is £70,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
