Are you an experienced Quality Engineer keen to support solutions within the manufacturing and oil and gas sectors? If so the following permanent role might be for you….

Our client is a large and growing manufacturer of heat exchangers across oil and gas industries. They're looking for a Quality Engineer to work within their Filtration & Energy Solutions department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring product and processes are compliant with its internal procedures, certifying authorities, regulatory requirements, and customer specification.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting continuous improvement activities, root cause analysis when problems occur, and ensuring that QA related corrective actions are implemented and monitored.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting improvement within manufacturing, to ensure the learning from NCRs, audits and the quality performance is embedded using CI and problem-solving tools as well as the zero-defect methodology.
  • Ensuring that product quality complies with their Quality Management System, and pressure vessel regulatory requirements. Informs Quality Manager of any potential quality escape and proposes immediate corrective actions.
  • Completing quality milestones that meet "On Time Delivery" objectives throughout manufacturing including shop floor monitoring.
  • Ensuring that project and process control documentation is compliant with requirements of the contract; Conduct Final Inspection Reports, NDT reports review and welding traceability checks.
  • Conducting internal & external audits as per agreed Audit Plan
  • Promoting continuous improvement by collecting, interpreting, analysing, and summarizing data and making recommendations through structured problem-solving techniques to assess quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods.

You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or HND qualifications or equivalent. Alternatively, A Levels in English, Maths and Sciences, plus a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of using problem solving techniques: 8D, A3, Ishikawa, 5 Whys etc.
  • The ability to carry out audit as an Internal/Lead Auditor.
  • 5+ Years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, welding processes and non-destructive testing.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPV Codes and Pressure Equipment Direct (desirable)
  • Lead Auditor qualifications (desirable)
  • Green Belt Six Sigma qualified (desirable)
