I'm looking for a Production Engineer to join a global electronics manufacturer based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality & Supply Chain)
  • Support the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment
  • Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries, including supplier visit, capability assessments and audits as required
  • Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback
  • Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority
  • Support the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain constant self-learning and development routines

Essential Competences:

  • Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Electrical & Process)
  • Must be an experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi-functional engineering competence
  • Understanding of Lean Principles and process variation- Green Belt desirable
  • Understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement - OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen
  • Have a solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:

  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent cross functional team working skills
  • Strong participant in cross functional teams supporting Manufacturing
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa
