Senior Hardware Systems Engineer

Overview:

The Hardware Product Team exist to provide hardware development services across a variety of projects, covering a number of facets including design of Shared Infrastructure Systems, testing and issue resolution.

Key Deliverables:

· Generation of design, test and installation documentation

· Design proving, including environmental and Electro Magnetic Compatibility aspects

· Investigation and resolution of design issues

· Design and build of the electrical and hardware system to achieve successful acceptance (FAT(E)

· Support to development systems

· Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship

· Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines

Key Skills / Experience:

Essential:

• An Engineer with experience in a hardware domain
• Knowledge and experience of equipment development using Commercially available Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware components, preferably with an understanding of blade and PC technology.
• A can-do, enthusiastic attitude and enquiring mind with a flexible approach & openness to involvement in all aspects of the team's work

Desirable:

• Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment
• Experience with COTS enclosures (e.g. units, cabinets), design, wiring schedules, power distribution etc. would be especially desirable.
• Experience working with the Defence sector
