 On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis.
 
 The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all products meet the necessary standards, specifications and requirements set internally and by regulatory authorities. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements in the aerospace industry, with specific knowledge in mechanical and electronic components compliant with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. The Quality Inspector will play a critical role in identifying deviations, implementing correction / corrective actions and maintaining the integrity of our products.

 You will be responsible for:
- Inspecting mechanical and electronic components, assemblies and products to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
 - Performing incoming and final inspection activities on products which have been returned by our customers as part of the Customer Logistics Support function.
 - Conducting incoming inspections, in-process inspections and final inspections to ensure compliance to the defined requirements.
 - Evaluating and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and quality standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
 - Identifying deviations from design specifications and collaborate with the Engineering team to rectify them.
 - Reviewing supplier submitted First Article Inspection Reports to ensure compliance to AS9102.
 - Maintaining clear and consistent communication with the Operations Team to understand production and incoming priorities.
 - Providing assurance and advice to the Quality Engineering Manager regarding Inspection performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
 - Verifying all manufacturing documents are complete, accurate and comply with all traceability and deviation management requirements
 - Identifying and documenting any non-conformities as well as collaborating with the relevant teams to perform quality investigations
 - Supporting Management with the control of non-conforming parts and associated RCCA
 - Identifying and diagnosing workmanship problems in Production processes using 5Why's or similar method and leading CAPA activities.
 - Controlling of counterfeit components prevention and detection.
 
You:
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a Quality role within the Aerospace industry, preferably within a civil aerospace environment.
 - Comprehensive knowledge of AS9100 standards and quality management systems (desirable)
 - Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (desirable)
 - Strong understanding of AS9102 and First Article Inspection Reports
 - In-depth knowledge and understanding of aerospace regulations, specifically those set by the CAA.
 - The ability to review suppliers FAIRs to ensure compliance to AS9102 (desirable)
 - Strong inspection skills for both mechanical and electronic components.
 - Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment such as FARO Arm, Height Gauge, Micrometers etc.
 - Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on achieving excellence
 - Complete understanding of non-conformance processes such as Material Review Board and the various dispositions (highly desirable)
 - Training in IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards (training can be provide)
