Principal Engineer - Mechanical Engineering
The Role
As a Principal Engineer, you will be working as part of a Mechanical Systems Group, which has the responsibility for design, development, manufacture, delivery, installation, and final acceptance of various defence programmes
- The role will be developing and managing technical specifications reviewing system to system integration test plans and procedures to ensure that they deliver the evidence required for both equipment and system level customer acceptance to schedule
- Supporting system to system integration and testing at the supplier's site.
- Support the ongoing development of the electrical and data interfaces
- Assessing sub-contractor supplied design deliverables and making recommendations for amendment
- The production of engineering reports for Senior Management.
This role will give you the opportunity to work on cutting edge defence programmes that will provide you with work longevity and career development that could include progression into engineering manager roles or support towards chartered engineer status.
In return you will receive £53,000 salary, option for a hybrid working arrangement and an industry leading benefits package
Essential Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification or experience, in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Mechanical systems engineering background
- Knowledge and experience of systems engineering.
- Able to obtain security clearance.
