A well respected engineering organisation is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their dedicated team of technical professionals. The role is based in Barrow In Furness, Cumbria and is for an initial 6 month duration. There is a rate of £50Ltd Per Hour on offer for the successful candidate. Please find the description below:

Role description

We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer, with industry experience in the design, build and installation of compressed gas and atmospheric management systems and supporting systems and equipment.

You will work as part of a team responsible for a number of compressible gas and atmospheric systems plus interfaces to other systems that form part of our complex and World Class product. The complex nature of the product may see you being involved in a wide range of activities from all stages of design to supporting our customer, suppliers and resolving build or commissioning issues.

The complex nature of the product places demands across a range of specialist subject areas, including:

Pressurised air and gas systems

Compressible and non-compressible fluid dynamics

Hydraulic systems

Diesel Generators

Survival and Life support systems

Mechanical systems

Cooling systems

HVAC/Atmosphere control

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Mechanical Engineer will involve:

Executing, evaluating, delivering and managing complex engineering and/or cross functional tasks or programmes of work, recognising stakeholder and customer requirements

Engineering verification and validation activities

Providing engineering evidence and assurance to ensure customer requirements have been met

Contributing to the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and to manage the resulting change embodiment activities

Providing engineering advice and capability to support acceptance, build, test and commissioning activities
