Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth (Hybrid working, 3 days onsite per week)

Duration: 12 Month Contract Initially

Rate: £65.25 per hour umbrella

Overview:

  • This is a technical role relating to the Electronic aspects of hardware design.

The Role Holder will :-

  • Generate and/or support electronic design solutions for both new products and technology insertions into legacy products.
  • Generate and/or support detailed designs from concept to completion.
  • Participate in all aspects of board and unit-level designs and including their interfaces with higher levels

Key Deliverables:

  • Detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and liaising with PCB design teams.
  • Specification of bespoke procured hardware.
  • Design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques, including support to EMC test houses and customer installations.
  • Generate design documentation and technical reports.
  • Interfacing with related disciplines.
  • Assist the development of higher level system designs.
  • Assist the development of technical requirement specifications
  • Support system integration activities

Key Skills / Experience:

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for electronic designs. The role will provide you with the opportunity to join various complex development projects. You will see the full lifecycle and contribute through all phases.

  • Digital electronics skills required that can work through the process from on paper design to product build
  • Digital hardware development skills required
  • High speed digital systems
  • Candidates need to know about the components used in systems and be able to choose them and put them together, be able to come up with a schematic circuit and guide the teams throughout this process (from initial design through to production)
  • Be able to run through the programme of both test and design proving activities
  • Combination of analogue and digital skills
  • Open to various experiences levels, but this role would not suit a candidate just starting out in their career, it does require some prior experience
  • Cadence tool is a widely used set of software and this project will use this tool exclusively. Advantageous for anyone that has used this before but open to any tool set as long as willing to learn.
