I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Defence client who are recruiting for a Senior Systems Design Assurance Engineer in Glasgow, working on a hybrid arrangment. This role can also be based from Bristol or Portsmouth with visits to Glasgow.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Design Assurance Manager in the conduct of the various assurance activities that assess the design maturity of the product
- Managing design assurance mechanisms that provide data to the Chief Engineer and Technical Authorities, such as developing the associated review checklists and managing toolsets
- Supplying guidance and support to the wider engineering team to enable the successful conduct of key assurance processes
- Supporting with the progression of Zonal Review and Compartment Plan Approval processes, ensuring the design assurance strategy, design resilience and the integrity of the design is met
- Leading on the strategic development of processes, embodiment of 'Learning from Experience' and adaption of the assurance approach in response to emerging technical risk and evolving programme needs
- Maintaining a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development, including stakeholder relationships with counterparts on other Global Combat Systems programs
Experience
A background as a systems engineer with experience of design assurance across large scale systems, from industries such as aerospace & defence, oil & gas, petrochemicals etc is required to be successful in this role.
