Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Safety Case Consultant to join their existing team in in Stoke Gifford on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As a Senior Safety Case Consultant, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provision of strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience to inform and direct policies, projects and programmes
  • Providing the nuclear safety input to design projects, ensuring that nuclear safety requirements are incorporated
  • Producing, verifying, and approving calculations, analyses, design basis documentation and technical reports
  • Leading and participating in Hazard Identification studies
  • Knowledge in specialist areas of safety case, e.g. submarines, hydrogen, chemotoxic, etc.

You

To succeed within the role of a Senior Safety Case Consultant, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

Bachelor Honours Degree (minimum) in Science or Engineering related discipline

  • 10 years direct and relevant experience of undertaking radiological safety assessments and / or INSA / Peer Review
  • Cross-industry experience, knowledge of a wide range of nuclear facilities and their operations
  • Experience in developing and preparing safety documentation for projects such as Hazard Management Strategy, Safety Reports (PSRs, PCSRs etc. and equivalents), ALARP arguments

In addition, previous experience working in support of the UK submarine programme and new nuclear build would be highly regarded.

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
