Would you like to solve some of the most interesting design challenges in the defence industry today? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their existing team in Bristol (hybrid working) on a 6 month contract.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will create significant value by leveraging your skills and experience to generate outstanding new build and in-service design solutions. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Producing maintenance procedures for the supported systems. This will require:
- Gaining an understanding of these systems at the part level.
- Producing detailed written and pictorial instructions to the operators and maintainers of these systems, of how to maintain and replace the user-serviceable items.
- Producing exploded diagrams to accompany the instructions.
- Reviewing and checking the work of others in the team.
You
To succeed within the role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, or HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Discipline with demonstrable experience and capability.
- Previous experience in originating and checking for most mechanical engineering deliverables, i.e. technical documentation, 3D CAD and technical drawings, operating instructions, etc
- Specifically, can read, originate, and check maintenance instructions and exploded diagrams.
- Proficient with use of TeamCenter and NX.
- Experience of reading and interpreting hydraulic / pneumatic schematics.
Please note that due to security nature of this role, we can only consider British nationals who have lived in the UK in the last 5 years and is eligible for security clearance.
