An autonomous aerial platform business which is building a new aircraft system to change the way the world moves goods is looking for a Robotics Engineer to join their growing team. With a great culture, vision, and mission they are focused on bringing innovation to the logistics sector. The business has had an enthusiastic market response, recently received investment from Lockheed Martin's VC division and has a fantastic partnership with a commercial global aircraft producer - this is most definitely a "make your mark" opportunity.
As one of their Robotics Engineers, your focus will be on prototyping and testing the core electromechanical, robotic and software systems that empower their robot to perform its autonomous cargo handling and self-taxiing behaviours during the ground phase of its mission. You'll need to develop and executive comprehensive test plans for our novel mechatronic systems including building and running tests on both test rigs and the prototype vehicle. Your contributions to their electromechanical and software systems are critical and your work will come alive during field testing.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a passion for autonomous systems and robotics along with significant engineering experience within industry (i.e. not just education) relating to vehicles or robotic systems. Ideally, you'll be an engineering generalist with mechanical, electronic and software skills.
As the role involves working with physical systems, you'll need to be in the office most days although on the days when you can get your work done more effectively from home they're happy for you to do so.
