The Role
Within the role of Production Planner, you’ll be responsible for:
Interpreting customer requirements.
Identifying the materials, services and sub-contracts required in support of projects.
Carrying out all pre-production checks to ensure that the tasks can be moved through the Ways of Working process.
Calculating the hours effort for each trade required using production process standards, parametric estimating methods and own knowledge.
In addition, you’ll help maintain cost estimating and standard job libraries by creating and enhancing standard task lists.
You
To succeed within the role of Production Planner, you’ll have experience in a similar position, and you’ll ideally have the following skills:
A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of ship repair production processes, methods and safe practices.
Refit/installation/repair experience in a shipyard environment.
PC literate and competent with Microsoft Excel/Access and the ability to use an ERP system.
In addition, any awareness of general H&S/Environmental regulations and safe working practices or advanced knowledge of production processes and safety within a ship repair environment will be helpful.
