Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Pipe Stress Engineer to join their existing team in Plymouth (hybrid working) on a 6 to 12 month contract.
The Role
The Welding Integrity Group sits within the Welding Engineering Department is looking for a Pipe Stress Engineer to support their internal and external customers such as the MOD and Royal Navy. As a Pipe Stress Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:
- multiple pipe stress analyses
- fitness for Service (FFS) Assessments, such as Engineering Critical Assessment, fillet weld strength checks, as well as wall thinning assessments
- authoring of technical engineering reports/proposals for pipe stress analysis
In addition, there will also be involvement in a diverse range of scopes from research projects and production activities through to operational/field repairs.
You
To succeed within the role of a Pipe Stress Engineer Engineer you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:
- BEng or above in an applicable engineering discipline
- Competent with pipe stress analysis software and be able to complete the modelling of pipe systems on submarine platforms
- Prior experience in the use of Bentley autopipe would be beneficial
Please note that due to security nature of this role, applicants must be a British National and be capable of holding NNPI, PSA and Atomic security clearances.
