A global brand in plastic components and packaging is looking to recruit an additional NPI / Tooling Specialist to join their team in Cambridgeshire, near Ely. The role is a permanent opportunity offering between £30,000 and £35,000 p/a (depending on level of experience), an element of remote working and fantastic training and career development opportunities.
The company is open to recruiting someone at either Technician level who would need some support and training on their tooling processes, or an Engineer who has relevant previous experience and could bring additional expertise into the team. Reporting to the NPI Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
* review new customer orders with NPD and sales
* estimate tool layouts and supply tool costs as required on new projects
* order tooling and monitor external suppliers performance, review any technical issues, ensure tooling is to budget, on time and to specification
* support quality with any customer and/or product complaints and implement tool changes/improvements where required
* support production and toolroom with any tooling issues and implement improvements on new and existing tooling
To be considered for these positions, the manager is looking to speak to people with previous experience in a manufacturing / production environment, ideally in an industrial engineering, tooling or thermoforming capacity. The ability to read engineering drawings and use a CAD package such as SolidWorks or Unigraphics would be an advantage, but not essential and training would be provided.
