Would you like to join a market leading organisation? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support their existing team in Ampthill (hybrid working) on an initial 6 month contract.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Use requirements specifications and a design brief to develop innovative yet robust design solutions that are compliant and fit for purpose.
- Use CREO Parametric CAD to produce both concept and detail designs.
- Create and present Design Review data packs to Senior Engineers and Governors.
In addition, you will also assist with the production of prototypes and confirm designs with manufacturing/purchasing teams and ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable, industry and business standards.
You
To succeed within the role of a Mechanical Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position in the Defence Industry, and you'll ideally have the following skills:
- Proven experience in the design and development of mechanical products.
- In-depth working knowledge of CREO CAD software and experience of using the tool to produce designs.
- Extensive knowledge of complex mechanism design and principles
In addition, you should also have previous experience in using Windchill PDM and able to perform basic structural and kinematic calculations.
Please note that due to security nature of this role, successful candidate must be eligible for SC clearance.
