Would you like to join an aerospace company based in Munich? The role involves Flight Control Laws Engineering on a 12-month contract, with fully remote working and an open rate (outside IR35).

Your tasks:

  • Full cycle of flight control laws development activities from requirements flow down and validation, implementation and testing, and integration.
  • In particular, in relation to the longitudinal control laws development.
  • Perform linear analyses to understand the robustness of the FCL to aerodynamic parameter variation.
  • Perform non-linear analyses - verifying implementation of problem reports and conducting offline clearance tests for FCL baselines.
  • Interfacing with handling qualities and flight testing team on (piloted) testing of control laws baselines.
  • Support the Aerodynamic and Modelling teams to ensure the suitability of the Flight Dynamics Model for Flight Control Laws development.
  • Support the flight control system and software teams on target integration and testing.
  • Support safety assessment activities on flight control system and aircraft level.

Your Profile:

  • MEng or MSc in aeronautical engineering or a similar degree.
  • Min. 5 years of professional experience in flight control law development for fly-by-wire aircraft with a demonstrated track record of delivery.
  • Good understanding of flight dynamics modelling, previous professional experience in this area is a plus.
  • Experience with flight control development of highly augmented aircraft configurations is beneficial.
  • Solid background in ARP 4754A and DO-178C (experience with model-based design/DO-331 is a plus).
  • Excellent skills in Matlab/Simulink.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
