One of the fastest growing businesses in the UK (who compete with Amazon for being the most technologically advanced e-commerce business) is looking for an Engineering Team Leader to join their growing team. The business is revolutionary and is now selling their technology to other businesses to help them build and implement automated distribution centres across the world.
The Role
As an Engineering Team Leader you'll manage a small team (c5) of engineers and be responsible for the products they develop. You'll work alongside a Product Manager and a Controls Engineering Team Lead and guide your team through all stages of the product lifecycle for automation systems, namely discovery to product readiness to implementation. To succeed in the role of Engineering Team Leader you'll need to have leadership experience within an engineering role covering the full product life cycle - this could be from having held a Lead / Principal Engineer role as opposed to a specific Engineering Manager role. A mechanical design background is preferred but electrical may be considered. Industry wise you'll be from one with complex systems such as materials handling, defence, special purpose machinery and oil & gas. Any experience of project management and / or having worked with Product Managers will certainly hold you in good stead.
