Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for an Engineering Manager to join their existing team in Devonport (hybrid working) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will support the delivery of engineering outcomes in 5 Basin Berth a non-tidal berth for Nuclear Submarine support and maintenance at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Directly responsible to the Design and Safety Manager, supporting them and the design managers in the team with delivery of engineering outcomes and assurance of technical documentation.

The engineering team is in the process of building resilience in the ranks. An active role will be taken in building the medium term capability of the team in support of programme demands. Time will also be spent aiding the design and safety manager with team management.

Activity will also focus on the liaison with the project management community within the project and interfacing with the supply chain on technical matters.

You

To succeed within the role of an Engineering Manager, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Engineering / STEM Background and degree, or equivalence
  • Strong technical leadership / project management background
  • Experience of highly regulated industries such as oil & gas
  • Evidence of active stakeholder management and positive communications skills
  • Nuclear experience

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
