A company that specialise in industrial gearboxes for various industries including marine and power generation is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis from their site near Twickenham.
The Role
This position will involve collaboration with design/purchasing and workshop/assembly teams on design projects. The candidate will be expected to use 2D and 3D drafting software to create drawings and models of products, to organise, maintain and create engineering records for each product, and to ensure components and assemblies follow industry standards. Experience
* At least 5 years' significant and demonstrated experience in mechanical design
* Understanding of drafting and modelling and Ansys FEA.
* Have a high level of understanding of mechanical standards and production methods including turning, milling and grinding. Knowledge of gear manufacturing and rotating machines is preferred
* High level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office
* Working within a small team but with a lot of autonomy. Be able to manage several projects simultaneously on a controlled and organised manner, with excellent organisational, planning, communication and time management skills.
