Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Deputy Commissioning Manager to join their existing team in Devonport (hybrid working) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As a Deputy Commissioning Manager, you will be delivering commissioning projects to meet the appropriate national legal requirements and Client's requirement specification, the developed technical specifications and applied standards. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Supervision of the Commissioning technicians under their direct responsibility.
  • Adherence to the agreed Commissioning Quality Management System and ensuring that the commissioning team members correctly apply procedures, codes and standards to commissioning activities.
  • Interface with the Client team and other project disciplines (Design Engineering, Training, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Construction, Operations and Maintenance)

In addition, you will also be assisting the Commissioning Team Leader in the identification of the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) requirements - approval of vendor test documentation, witnessing of vendor testing, approval of vendor test results where required.

You

To succeed within the role of a Deputy Commissioning Manager, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Level 4 Qualification (e.g. HNC) preferred but 'commissioning specific' experience may be considered in lieu of qualification
  • Electrical & Instrumentation and Control Systems commissioning experience
  • Preivously worked in the nuclear industry

In addition, you should also have experience of managing a team of Principal Commissioning Engineers and familiar with commissioning procedures for TCA's, Fob's (or CR's) and handover.

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
