A globally recognised professional services firm is actively seeking an experienced Corporate M&A / ECM Associate (2-4 years PQE) to join their team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising across a broad spectrum of corporate work including public takeovers, private M&A, private equity, ECM, complex joint ventures, disposals and corporate restructurings, as well as general commercial, antitrust and corporate governance issues.
The Role
Working alongside the corporate team you will have the opportunity to work closely with established clients, allowing you to develop client relationships and develop your knowledge in a variety of transactions.
Candidates must have strong corporate M&A & ECM experience gained within in a leading firm covering:
Public and private mergers and acquisitions
Equity capital markets transactions
Private equity
General corporate and commercial work
The Person
To be successful in the role of Corporate M&A / ECM Associate, you'll have the following skills and experience:
2-4 years of transactional experience with a leading international or reputable HK law firm and strong academic credentials
HK qualified or holding RFL status, with current experience in Hong Kong and working alongside Chinese clients
Ability to handle M&A deals from end-to-end
Mandarin and English language skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral);
Sound knowledge of the Hong Kong Listing Rules
An effective team player who can operate in a highly collegiate atmosphere
Commercially astute with outstanding technical ability, including research and drafting skills
Exceptional problem solving and organisational skills
An ability to manage, prioritise and meet deadlines, working efficiently and effectively under pressure
Desire to join a truly global team with an international outlook and commercial mind-set.
