Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer - Electrical to join their existing team in Plymouth (5 days onsite) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As a Commissioning Engineer - Electrical, you will be part of a small team of Engineers within the Commissioning Group (Warships), (DTO) carrying out inspections, testing and diagnostics on HM Warships Marine Systems. Your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:

  • Liaising with both Royal Navy and Project staff on a daily basis.
  • Work will involve inspection and Testing of Ships systems and equipment's, the work will mainly be on RN Warships but will also support on occasion Landing Craft.
  • Writing of Test Documentation will also be required at times.

You

To succeed within the role of a Commissioning Engineer - Electrical, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Time served Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Ship Systems/Equipment's - Type 23/ Type 45 / LPD's and future platforms
  • Experience of commissioning process
  • Knowledge of Inspection and Testing methods and Test Form Process

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
