Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to increased growth in this area, this global business is currently looking for a Bid Manager to join the Business Development team to support the generation of tenders, bids and proposals for both new and existing customers. This is a 40 week contract, inside IR35, hybrid working, min 2 days a week on site in Devonport.

The Role

The role requires a blend of bid management skills, experience of bidding processes and knowledge of regulatory frameworks across Defence. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage the development and delivery of bids, proposals and tenders, working in partnership with other internal resources, such that bids and bid documentation accurately reflects the business proposition and that it is delivery to time and specification
  • Review and interpret customer requirements and ensure that bids and tenders meet these requirements at optimum benefit to the business
  • Support the Senior Bid Manager to manage and deliver effective and compelling bid response documents
  • Ensure that bids and tenders are fully costed to accurately reflect operational and technical bid content and that meet business income and margin targets
  • Support the wider team in bidding best practice, ensure effective management and preparation of all reviews so that all stakeholders are briefed appropriately and capture and share best practice.

You

To succeed within the role of a Bid Manager, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Degree Level or Equivalent in either an Engineering, Software Engineering, Business or English literature/language related discipline
  • Strong and demonstrable understanding of bid processes
  • Understanding of the procurement process and regulations
  • Bid writing capability
  • A passion and drive for pre-sales and bid management
  • APMP (Project and/or Proposals) (Preferable)

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
