Procurement Professional - initial 12 Month contract - Christchurch

A great opportunity has come along with one of the UK's largest Aerospace & Defence organisations who are currently looking to recruit a Principal Procurement Professional within their Air sector.

The role

  • 12-month initial contract plus potential extensions
  • £21.41 per hour (inside IR35)
  • Christchurch (remote working / hybrid working opportunities)

You

Within the Principal Procurement Professional position, you will have several responsibilities which will include::

  • Early engagement with key stakeholders (e.g. representatives from Quality, Project Management, Engineering and Finance) within campaigns and projects to ensure the implementation of Procurement processes relating to the identification of requirements, selection of suppliers, negotiation of agreements / contracts and management of supplier performance.
  • Purchase a broad range of goods and services using the MS SAP system. This will include complex / non-routine purchases involving higher value goods and services where the value, risk or contract warrants special definition or conditions beyond those for a routine purchase.
  • Expedite all outstanding purchase orders and ensuring all delivery dates are topical in both the MS SAP system and individual project/procurement tools. Liaise with Goods In and stores to ensure orders are receipted in a timely manner.
  • Know how to operate within the corporate Procurement processes, governance framework and the Company's responsible trading principles. Ensure the requirements of EN9100 are met and sourcing decisions can stand the scrutiny of internal and external audit.
  • Provide support with development of supplier contracts / agreements to ensure they have the necessary legal input and flow down of customer requirements.
  • Creation of bid documentation through to final sign off, in support of bids. This will involve liaising with Project Management, Engineering, Quality and Commercial.
  • Assist with providing latest information for monthly contract reporting packs and functional reporting updates.
  • Ensure all Export Control processes are adhered too, in particular, ensuring the JCR is up to date for all hardware requirements.
  • Take the lead, from a Procurement perspective, for individual customer tasks to ensure deliveries of goods and services are within agreed schedules.

*To be successful within this position you also must be eligible to SC Clearance*
