On behalf of my client, a leading supplier of video and image processing solutions to the Electro-Optic systems market, I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis in Wokingham.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing designs for the effective packaging and thermal management of the company's GRIP rugged computer and CHARM tracker products using SolidWorks 3D CAD software
- Mechanical lead within a small, mixed discipline, project team to produce quality design solutions in line with cost, time and quality requirements
- Leading and working in collaboration with the team to perform classical engineering analysis on designs, including thermal performance, stress, fatigue & vibration
- Performing lab testing for verification and conformance of design outputs to meet the design inputs.
- Leading and developing engineering reports to support new product designs, failure investigation and any other formal documentation to support customer requirements
- Coordinating with wider engineering teams to develop and integrate electronic equipment into designs
You :
- Will be degree educated in Mechanical Engineering
- Will be proficient in the use of a 3D CAD system
- Will have a flair for innovation, new concept designs and a passion for mechanical engineering.
- Will have proven experience in the total design process from requirements capture to product introduction in a Lead role
- Will have experience in the Defence industry or similar sectors (desirable)
- Have a proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD system (desirable)
- Will be familiar with the principles of document control, preferably using Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform for SolidWorks (desirable)
