Head of Procurement (Major Systems and Equipment) - 12 Month Contract - Broad Oak Based (Hybrid working) - £91.75 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35
This is a great opportunity to join one of the UKs leading Defence organisations based in Broad Oak (Hybrid).
Reporting operationally and functionally into the Combat Systems Commercial Partnerships Director - the Head of Procurement - Major Systems and Equipment (MS&E) will be responsible and accountable for leading the MS&E team, ensuring contractual delivery of all equipment, materials and services within their scope of responsibility into Combat Systems Programmes.
Utilising Procurement best practice and subject matter expertise, the Head of Procurement will be accountable for effective management of suppliers, ensuring that appropriate management steps are taken to resolve escalated issues.
Qualifications/Functional Knowledge
- MCIPS qualified (or equivalent)
- Effective and tested leadership practices
- End-to-end strategic Procurement lifecycle
- Ethical Procurement practices
- Value Engineering/Cost Reduction processes
- Contract Management & Relationship Management best practice
- Contract and supplier performance management
- Strategic Category Management - strategy development and multi million pound delivery
- In depth working knowledge of the legal environment related to contracts and framework agreements within the defence sector
- Application of Procurement and Supply Chain Governance practices
- Use of Quality systems and management processes
- Working knowledge of Regulatory frameworks on Supply Chain practice (e.g. Import/Export, ITAR, Defence Procurement Regulations)
- Combat Systems Product Domain Knowledge
