The successful candidate will be responsible for global mobility partnering, with a long-term tactical focus on all mobility matters, leading the global mobility team and supporting the implementation of a new global mobility framework.
The Role:
The Global Mobility Lead will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Able to build up a Global Mobility practice from scratch.
Work with professional services firms and key data suppliers.
Able to explain to employees, HR team and senior management how global mobility works.
Design a range of different policies depending on the nature of the assignment and can logically justify different treatment for different employees (e.g., hardship locations accompanied or unaccompanied, etc.).
Use data appropriately to develop and deliver KPIs.
Manage multiple combinations of complex assignments, i.e., nationalities, locations, etc.
Deliver in collaboration with offshore shared services model where all administration needs to be conducted by the offshore team in India.
Committed to the highest standards of compliance and ethics. Need to ensure all legal obligations are met such as payment of tax and observance of immigration requirements.
Responsible for effective and strategic global mobility partnering with HR Leads, HRBPs, and business heads.
Partner with the business to align GM to future business strategy.
Collaborate closely with wider teams, such as Reward, Tax and Legal teams to create forward-looking solutions that are globally consistent and regionally tailored.
Provide meaningful analytics around global mobility.
Support new country strategy presenting alternative employment models for mobile employees.
Monitor and assess market competitiveness on GM policies.
The Person:
Minimum of 10+ years in Global Mobility
Gravitas, able to deal with senior management and demanding employees in a diplomatic but firm and fair way.
Strong intellect and logical approach to issues
Significant experience in international markets.
Working knowledge of all aspects of global mobility, including but not limited to expat policies, short-term and long-term project assignments, tax, social security, immigration, payroll, and cross charging.
Bachelors or master's degree with relevant global mobility experience.
Good understanding of the challenges for employees in moving to harsh locations.
Understanding the practical aspects of global mobility: relocation, work permits and family moves.
Highly numerate and commercially aware with an understanding of the financial impact of actions
Effective internal client-facing skills with a flexible yet firm communication style
Good stakeholder management skills
Experience in managing change and good project management skills
Experience of operating in a geographically dispersed and complex organization
High awareness of risk control and compliance
Experience in leading effectively through periods of ambiguity and change.
Understands budgetary responsibility and financial accountability
