How to prepare for a job interview

When it comes to job interviews, preparation is key to ensure you succeed. If you have a job interview approaching, review these helpful tips from Karl Hunt on how to prepare for an interview and the steps you should take after the interview to make a great impression on the interviewer.

Key points to remember…

  • Research is key! Before the interview, take a look at the company website, LinkedIn and Twitter. This way you’ll know more about the background of the company and you can impress the interviewer with your knowledge on company news.
  • Plan your route to the interview in advance – it’s unprofessional to turn up late.
  • Practice your answers to key talking points prior to the interview, so you don’t draw a blank.
  • After the interview, remember to thank everyone who helped you and drop the interviewer or your recruitment consultant and email that day to reiterate your interest.
