So you’ve just left the interview, delighted because you’ve aced it and in the mindset that you’ll definitely get the job. Well, unfortunately, things aren’t always that straightforward, and no matter how well you did in the interview or how great your CV is you may have another hurdle to jump….
In some circumstances you may be sent a conditional job offer letter, which states that you’ll only get the job if certain conditions are met. Generally, they are quite minor and nothing the worry about. Examples of conditions an employer may ask for are:
- Security checks
- Health and fitness checks
- Satisfactory references
- Obtaining a particular degree or qualification
Within the letter, the employer should state a deadline to meet the conditions, which you must adhere to (if not, the conditional job offer could be revoked). It is only once you have completed the required conditions that you have got the job, so DON’T leave your current job for the new position until then!
